Meet Marlyse Ennett

I’m a REALTOR® serving Mitchell, Stratford, and communities throughout Huron-Perth, with a background in healthcare, human resources, and new construction real estate.

I got here by a slightly unusual route, and I think it makes me better at this. My experience has taught me how to listen closely, communicate clearly, navigate complex decisions, and understand what people need during some of life’s biggest transitions.

I’ve called Huron-Perth home in several ways. I grew up in Listowel, attended high school and bought my first home in Stratford, and now reside in West Perth with my husband, two boys, and our dog. I’ve never ventured far because I genuinely love the communities that make this area special, and I bring that local perspective to every client I work with.

Whether you’re buying your first home, selling, moving within the area, or looking for something a little more elevated, my approach is rooted in trust, education, and a personalized experience from start to finish.

My story

How I got here

Nobody grows up planning to sell real estate. Here’s the path that led me to it, and why each part still shows up in how I work.

Chapter one

My first career

My first career was in hearing healthcare, where communication was at the heart of everything I did. I worked closely with people who were navigating hearing loss, helping them understand their options, make informed decisions, and feel confident moving forward.

That experience shaped the way I approach my work today. Listen before you talk. Explain things clearly and in plain language. Never assume someone understands just because you’ve explained it once. Most importantly, earn trust rather than expect it.

Those habits have stayed with me. The subject may have changed from hearing healthcare to real estate, but the way I work with people hasn’t.

Chapter two

Back to school

My education in human resources taught me how to navigate complex situations, understand different perspectives, and communicate with care and professionalism. At its core, HR is about people. People navigating change, competing priorities, and difficult conversations.

That experience translates naturally to real estate. Negotiating offers, managing competing priorities, navigating challenging conversations, and keeping everyone focused when emotions run high are all part of the job. I’m comfortable in those moments, and I’d rather take on the difficult conversations and complicated details than hand them back to you.

Chapter three

I stumbled into real estate

After graduating, I was in the process of searching for a role in human resources when I came across an opportunity in real estate administration. I decided to give it a try, not knowing at the time that it would completely change the direction of my career.

It led me into new construction, where I went on to support more than 100 new home transactions. I worked closely with buyers through floor plans, selections, upgrades, builder contracts, and the long stretch between signing and finally getting the keys.

You learn things in new construction that are difficult to learn anywhere else. How a home actually comes together. Which upgrades add value and which ones don’t. Why one lot can be worth more than the one beside it. And how the decisions made before a home is built can affect its value years later.

That experience has become a valuable part of how I work today. Whether I’m helping someone build a home or walking a resale buyer through an inspection, renovation, or future resale potential.

Chapter four

Then we built our own

After living in Stratford, my husband and I decided it was time to make a move outside the city and put down roots somewhere that felt like the right fit for our growing family. We designed and built our own home in West Perth, and suddenly, everything I had learned through new construction became personal.

I was involved in the decisions, the selections, the changes, and all the moments of wondering whether we had made the right call on something we couldn’t easily undo. Building a home taught me what it feels like to be on the other side of the transaction. You are excited about what’s ahead, overwhelmed by the decisions, and occasionally wondering if you’ve made the right choice.

It gave me something I couldn’t have learned from the other side of a desk: I know what it feels like. The excitement, the decision fatigue, the unexpected curveballs, and the strange feeling of leaving one home behind while creating another.

So when a client tells me they’re overwhelmed, I’m not just being polite when I say I understand. I really do.

Chapter five

Then I became a REALTOR®

Eventually, the next step felt like a natural one. I took everything I had learned and brought it into real estate.

Today, I help buyers and sellers throughout Mitchell, Stratford, and communities throughout Huron-Perth navigate some of the biggest decisions they’ll make.

My approach is simple: listen first, educate without overwhelming, communicate clearly, and be the person in your corner when things get complicated.

Because real estate is about much more than buying and selling a house. It’s about people, and I’ve spent my career learning how to work with them.

I became a REALTOR® because I genuinely enjoy helping people through important life decisions, and creating a good experience during something that usually feels overwhelming.

01

Listen first

Before any advice, I want to understand what actually matters to you. The right move for your neighbour may be completely wrong for you.

02

Explain everything

No jargon, no glossing over the clause you did not ask about. If you do not understand a document, I have not finished my job yet.

03

Say the honest thing

Including when it costs me a sale. I would rather tell you this is not the right house, or not the right season to list.

04

Stay after closing

Contractors, questions, a value check three years from now. Most of my business comes from people I have already worked with, and that is on purpose.

Away from work

Home is my favourite place to be

I live in West Perth with my husband, our two boys, and our dog. Some of my favourite moments are the simple ones: backyard evenings, beautiful sunsets, and watching the boys run around barefoot.

When I’m not at home, you’ll often find me at my favourite gym, Hydra CrossFit in Stratford, where I spend plenty of time lifting, running, and working out.

I’ve never strayed too far from home, and that’s by choice. I love the communities, the people, and the slower pace.

Who I work with

The moves I know best

Every situation is different, but these are the four I am asked for most often.

First time buyers

You have never done this before and everyone has an opinion. We go slowly, in plain language, from pre approval through to keys.

Families moving up

More space, a better yard, a shorter drive. The tricky part is lining up the sale and the purchase, and that part is mine to handle.

Downsizers

Leaving a home full of memories deserves patience and a plan. There is no rushing this one.

New construction buyers

Over 100 new home transactions and a build of my own. Contracts, deposits, upgrades, and timelines that move.

What it’s like to work together

Next step

I’d love to hear from you

Whether you are ready to move next month or just starting to wonder about it, I am happy to talk it through. No script, no pressure, and no obligation to do anything afterward.
